When you talk about weight loss and healthy, what is the first thing that come into your mind? I believe that most of the people will say “Running”. Why? Because it is the thing that you can do without any equipment. It is the first exercise that you can think of, if you are not the person who has interested about fitness. We can see it all the time, in ads or movies (most common exercise they do is running on street or on treadmills).
So, is it true? I would say some part of it is true, you will get fit and healthy by running but is it the necessary way to do to lose your weight? Absolutely not. If you are a beginner or obese person, I cannot say that you should start running and you will lose weight and become a healthy person. That will be tough and overwhelm especially if you do not like it.
Now, Let me explain the connection between running and weight loss.

Weight Loss
First, you need to understand about “Weight Loss”. In today’s world, everyone is trying to lose weight and seems to take care of their health more serious. That’s a good thing. But some people still have wrong perspective about weight loss.
Weight loss is always about one thing and that is “What You Eat”. If you want to lose weight, do not just put on your shoes and start running. That will not help much. What you have to do is change your diet plan, calculate calories intake and expenditure, and select the food you eat.
One more thing that I want you to remember is, weight loss is not a single day or single week done, it’s a long-term game. You cannot lose weight with just running or few days of diet. Your body needs time to process changes.
Running
If you ever ask some athlete, “Are you running to lose weight?”, The answer will be “No”. They do running because it makes their heart perform better in sports. When you run every day, your heart enlarges and your blood volume increase, your heart supplies oxygen to the whole body effectively and your cardiovascular strength increase.
That’s sounds great, right? But I will not suggest anyone to start running if they want to lose weight. The reason why I do not recommend you to do running if you are an obese person or has no experience in fitness is because you will easily get injury rather than losing weight, If you do not have good cardiovascular health or good bone density.
Running is a weight bearing exercise. It means your joints tendons, bones, muscles, and everything are under pressure while you running. So, if you are a beginner or obese and someone suggest you to do running, just run away from them instead before you get injury.

Running and Weight Loss
“You are what you eat”, it is true. To lose weight you need to focus on your calories intake and select quality food instead of running continuously. Even if you run for weeks or months, you will not lose a single pound unless you are controlling or changing your diet plan.
Running is not for just weight loss, it’s just another type of exercise that everyone can do for any purpose. No matter it’s for weight loss or just for improve your cardiovascular strength.
If you want to lose weight, you should strengthen your muscles with weight training then develop a good cardio health with jogging, running or any kind of activity you like and focus on good diet.
